07/08 Stoneware Workshop: Turtle Box

Step into the world of high-fire ceramics in this hands-on stoneware glazing workshop. You’ll glaze your own stoneware piece using rich, reactive glazes that create depth, movement, and beautiful color variation in the kiln.

Unlike traditional paint-your-own pottery, stoneware glazing is layered and dynamic. As your pottery fires at high temperatures, the glazes interact and transform, creating earthy tones, subtle shifts, and organic effects that make every piece completely unique.

During the workshop, you’ll choose from our curated glaze combinations and learn how to properly layer and apply high-fire glazes for the best results. We will be painting Turtle Boxes! Perfect for storing tiny keepsakes and tchotchkes.

This class is perfect if you love handmade functional pottery, earthy finishes, and the idea of embracing a little creative unpredictability. Your finished box will be food safe and ready for everyday use once fired.
