I don’t usually eat out on Sundays, but after spending the whole day doing yard work and my wife deep cleaning the house she even went to our event venue to tidy up I told her not to worry about cooking. I wanted to treat us. As a Jamaican, Sunday dinner is something I take seriously, so I needed food that would truly hit the spot. My best friend Dylon recommended Long Gut Miss Pinny Finest Jamaican Dining in Manchester, CT, and let me tell you this place is the real deal! I had the rice and peas with red snapper escovitch fish, and from the very first bite, I was taken straight back home to Jamaica. The fish was perfectly fried, seasoned just right, and topped with that spicy escovitch sauce and pickled veggies. The rice and peas was flavorful and comforting exactly how it should be on a Sunday. To top it off, I had a glass of soursop juice that was so good, I had to order a second one to go. Smooth, refreshing, and full of flavor it hit every note. The food didn’t just satisfy my hunger; it brought me joy. It reminded me of the warmth, taste, and comfort of home. Big shoutout to Miss Pinny and the whole team you’ve earned a loyal customer. If you’re in Manchester and craving authentic Jamaican food, don’t walk run to this spot. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
