Pi Day Pi Off

Each year Ms. Roderick leads our McLain students in an exciting event to celebrate March 14th, otherwise written as 3/14, and known as Pi Day!  Students in Grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the annual Pi Off. Not only does this give students something to look forward to in the longest month of the school year, it is a good opportunity for students to reflect on the way God designed Creation so mathematically.
It's also a great opportunity for students to shine, sharing their God-given giftings and talents with us all!
This year's Pi Off had an incredible number of submissions and performances ranging from baking pies to the presentation of a research paper! There were skits, original songs, PiKus and the Grade 7 students lead us all in a Pi-inspired workout session!

Taking the trophy for most digits of pi recited from memory was Julie Thiel (grade 11). She correctly recited 144 digits while the eyes of the entire McLain student body and faculty were on her. Way to go, Julie!

The following are the winners for some of the other categories that day. Thank you to everyone for joining the fun and making this one of our best Pi Day celebrations so far!
