Intro to Silk Painting

Join our experienced Artist-In-Residence, Kim Desrosiers, for an exciting Introduction to Silk Painting event!

Discover the art of painting on silk and be a part of ‘Silk City’s’ artistic history. Beginning in 1838, the Cheney Brothers built the silk mills which made Manchester the largest silk manufacturer in the nation.

During this hands-on workshop, you will learn various techniques to create a beautiful sunflower on silk fabric. Kim will guide you through the process, from transferring the image to applying dyes and creating a stunning artwork.
